Deflect and deny

Hm. I guess when you're accused of something serious -- say, assassinating political threats in a country your troops occupy -- and you don't want to answer, just deflect the accusation:

When asked who had killed Hariri, Assad told the weekly: "The most important question is, Who had the benefit of it?
You know, kind of like the assholes who don't think it was Al Qaeda who hit us on 9/11, but Israel or Smirky McChimpyburton. Great lot these jerks associate with.
